In Photoshop software, open the file that you want to edit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1 -Converting Background Layer Into A Smart Object<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Open the image you want to work on and go to the <\/span>Layers<\/em> panel<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Click on the menu icon on the top right side <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Choose <\/span>Convert to Smart Object<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You will notice the <\/span>Smart Object<\/em> icon in the preview thumbnail.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step 2 – Camera Raw Filter<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Go to<\/span> Filter menu<\/em><\/li>\n
    2. Select<\/span> Camera Raw Filter<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      It will open up <\/span>the Camera Raw Filter Dialog Box <\/b>with the image appearing in the preview area.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 3 – Converting The Color Image To Black And White<\/strong><\/p>\n

      By default, the Basic panel will open up, select the <\/span>B&W Mix<\/em> panel from the Treatment section and convert your color image to black and white. You can also adjust the color by dragging the individual color slider.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Dragging the slider of any color to the left will darken that color in the image while sliding it to the right will increase the lightness.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 4 – Split Toning<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Now add a sepia tone by going to the Split Toning section( right of B&W Mix tab). The Split toning is divided into a <\/span>Highlights<\/em> section at the top and a <\/span>Shadow<\/em> section at the bottom. In the Highlights section, increase the hue to 40 and saturation to 20 to give a yellow-orange tint to your image.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Put the hue at 45 in the Shadow section, and the Saturation at 50 for a dramatic effect.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 5 – Adding Effects<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Add grains and vignette effects to your image by going to the <\/span>Effect<\/em> panel. It has two options – <\/span>Post-Crop Vignetting<\/em> at the top, <\/span>Grain<\/em> at the bottom. Play around with these options and see which setting you like the most for your image.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 6 – Basic Panel<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Our editing is almost complete. Now lower the overall contrast to make the image more faded. Go back to the Basic panel and tone down the <\/span>Highlights<\/em> by sliding the adjuster in the left direction and increasing the <\/span>Shadow<\/em> by sliding the adjuster in the right direction.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Finally, adjust the Clarity by dragging its adjuster to the left. Remember not to overdo it, or else you will lose too much detail.<\/span><\/p>\n

      After the editing is complete, Click OK to close the Camera Raw Filter Dialog Box.<\/span><\/p>\n
